 WEEKEND 11:30 Sat 25-Aug-2001 and Sun 26-Aug-2001, Jura (F) - "Summer Pastures"

 * HARE:  Hounds will be at the mercy of Deep Throat's navigation
 * MEET:  11:30am on the parking next to the church of Farges
 * ONInn  at the Chalet du Curson
 
 The Rambo's have biked the Jura this summer; this weekend is for the
 walkers and not-so-rambo's - and we will have better weather.
 
 Saturday will be about 6 hours walking - up to the crest of the Jura
 at Le Reculet (1700m) then down to the Chalet de Curson at 1500m. The
 pace will be relaxed - no need to rush.
 
 On Sunday we will have about 5 hours walk back to Farges along the
 wooded face of the Jura, with some welcome shade.
 
 Weather forecast is hot and dry, with not much wind.  Should be a
 little cooler overnight at 1500m than down in Geneva.
 
 Bring a sack lunch for Saturday, plus plenty of water and sun cream.
 Wear walking boots, a hat and something to keep you dry if there is a
 storm (unlikely but possible). Leave your ice-axe and crampons at
 home.
 
 A light sleeping bag would be useful, and a change of clothes because
 we might possibly perspire a little climbing up the Jura on a hot
 day.
 
 The estimated cost for the weekend is FRF 200. This will include
 Saturday night's accomodation with evening meal, breakfast on Sunday
 morning.
 
 When we get down on Sunday the plan is to have a leisurely lunch
 before parting, so allow something for lunch too.
 
 By car from Geneve cross into France:at either the
 Ferney border and L off first roundabout into D35 to St.Genis
 roundabout or Meyrin border to same roundabout. Take the D984
 direction Bellegarde. Pass Val Thoiry, St.Jean de Gonville's golf
 course and continue straight at the Peron roundabout. After LoGras
 watch for the Farges church on L.
 
 If, in the meantime, the Pays de Gex autoroute between Val Thoiry and
 Peron has opened take it to the Farges exit. Turn R turn and drive
 uphill to meet the D984 near the village center. The church is on L.

  * HARES and hounds will be on trail following the mountain guide
  * MEET at 9:30am on the parking next to the church of Farges 
        Depending on the decision of the registrants this can be either an A 
        to A or an A to B. Optional routes will be circulated and there will 
        be a meeting with the guide during the week preceding 25-Aug.
  * ONInn at the Chalet du Curson

 Bring a sack lunch for Saturday and avoid overloading yourselves on the 
 trail by delivering sleeping bags, etc to Iron Lady up to and including 
 Wednesday evening, 22 August. All of the equipment will be delivered to 
 the chalet. Because sleeping space in the chalet is limited reservations
