From: gwilliamsh@cix.compulink.co.uk Date: Fri, 15 Dec 95 22:49 GMT Just received the following article which was published in the Budapest Sun (not widely read by the contributors to hash-l, I guess): Four City Party A small group of Budapest Hash House Harriers travelled to Bratislava last weekend (21 October?) for the first V4 + 1 Hash. If this sounds like some strange foreign code, the V stands for Visegrád - "a very old place" and the four represented the four nearby capital cities, which added Warsaw and Prague, plus one - Vienna. Except that no one from Warsaw showed up, so the affair was actually V4 + 1 - 1. In addition hashers came from Zürich and Brussels. The first night took the group of 65 to three different bars. The next day was spent in the Tatra mountains where we walked up and down the hills followed by the requisite punishment for those who set the course, came in new shoes, wore the strangest clothes and crossed the line last. In addition all first time hashers in Bratislava had to down mugs of beer. There were two hash name christenings where the privileged duo were soaked in flour and beer. The night's typical Slovak dinner was followed by a popular local band that played great dancing music from the late '60s and'70s. Day No 2 the run was near the castle in Devin where the hills seemed higher and the route even tougher. When it was all over Budapest was chosen to host next year's event. See you there.

Where'd this all start?
