Athens Hash House Harriers are organising special Pre-Interhash runs on
Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th June for those planning a stopover on
their way to Cyprus.
Arrangements will be made for booking hotel accommodation and for
transport to the runs etc. Advice can also be given on Island travel for
those who would like a longer stopover in Greece.

Athens Hash House Harriers are pleased to announce there will be a
"Pre-Interhash Foreplay" for those who fancy a stopover in Greece on their way
to Cyprus.
Special runs will be organised on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th June. (Please
note that by popular request these dates have been brought forward one day from
the Wednesday/Thursday originally suggested as a considerable number prefer to
leave Thursday free or fly to Cyprus on this day).
Registered Hashers will be able to make accommodation arrangements direct with

The response to this suggested event has been good but it is clear that those
coming have different requirements in terms of hotel and dates. Shirley will
be able to offer a choice of hotels in the central Athens area and will book
dates according to individual needs. It is difficult to be precise about room
costs at this stage but a typical rate is likely to be $80 per night for a
double room including breakfast (ie $40 each for two hashers sharing a room).
As well as booking hotel accommodation, Shirley can provide information and
arrange bookings on ferries for those who want to do a bit of island-hopping.
She can also make reservations on flights from Athens to Cyprus. There will be
at least 3 daily flights (and probably 5). The first flight leaves at midday
and the last at 1830 hrs.

left free for sightseeing, sobering up, getting drunk again etc.

I would like to repeat this message previously transmitted some weeks ago:
Athens Hash House Harriers (AH3) will be hosting the "Pre-Interhash Foreplay"

such as a side trip to an Aegean Island to inaugurate your own original Hash /
hash to the summit of Mt. Olympus!

ATHENS - GREECE. This is the land of the ancient Gods, the birthplace of
democracy and the place where you can't put paper down the toilet. It is
also the home of the 1996 Pre-Interhash Foreplay.
So ****ing what you ask. So I'll tell you.
Courtesy of Athens H3 you can enjoy a scenic tour of the Acropolis, an
undulating ramble through the lush verdant countryside of mainland Greece,
and/or a swim whilst doing what you enjoy most. All right, you won't be
doing that, you'll be hashing, but maybe it's the next best thing.
The Pre-Interhash Foreplay takes place on the evenings of Tuesday and
Wednesday 4th-5th of June in and around Athens for those who fancy a
stopover in Greece on their way to Cyprus. For the modest sum of $50 you get
transport to/from the runs, all the Amstel you can drink, post-run food and
a limited edition Interhash Foreplay T -shirt.
For those who plan to come a day earlier, there will also be a run on Monday
3rd June.

Subject: Latest on the Athens Foreplay
Going to Cyprus in June? Why not join the Pre-Interhash Foreplay which we at
Athens H3 have thoughtfully laid on as a cultural stopover for all you
discerning hashers.
The Athens Foreplay takes place in the last few days leading up to the 1996
World Interhash. Originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday 4th-5th June
an extra run has now been added for Monday 3rd by popular demand.
The programme is as follows:
Monday 3rd June
Acropolis r*n (Central Athens)
followed by a taverna
Tuesday 4th June
Mountain r*n (North of Athens)
followed by a taverna or picnic
Wednesday 5th June
Seaside r*n (South of Athens)
followed by BBQ
All runs start in the evening at 7pm. The daytime has been left open for
sightseeing, sleeping, sobering up, drinking, etc.
The price for taking part in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is:

2 nights $50
1 night $30
This includes beer, transport to runs, beer, food and more beer. It also
includes all the benefits of Athens H3 Mismanagement (?), any entertainments
we can muster and a special edition T shirt.
Accommodation will be in small hotels in the Plaka area in the heart of the

Athens to Cyprus but does not have details of hotels in Cyprus itself.
