Come to the hills above the sea and enjoy running and drinking in beautiful
Italian landscape, 40 min south of Pescara. Exit the A14 Bologna-Bari at Val di
Sangro and drive up towards Bomba.

At Il Soffio, on the lake, we have individual log cabins for 2 - 6 people.
There will be 3 runs from Friday night to Sunday morning, through medieval
villages, lost tunnels, forgotten railroad tracks and green bushy hills, boat
rides, relaxing (poolside and lakeside), disco, excellent food and wine in best
Abruzzo style, plus all kinds of debauchery and of course loads of cold beer.

Money (until August 1, '97): 1 night: LIT 110,000, 2 nights LIT 160,000 2
nights includes accommodation, all food from Friday night dinner to Sunday
lunch, with breakfast, lunch sandwiches and dinner on Saturday, a T-shirt (or
something similar), and all the beer that you can drink. 1 night starts from
Saturday dinner.

Prices go up ITL10,000[CHF7]on Aug 1 and Sep 1, respectively. When paid upon

Time to register - prices go up on August 1 - send us your money, we will spend 
it.

We have taken the idea of "Hash Concept" from Milan H3 (which basically says 
that if your knees don't bleed it was not a good Hash), reapplied it to the 
South Italian desert, and made Gonzo lay the Sunday trail. You'll enjoy.

Subject: Italian Nash Hash Update & Instructions

All:

Everything is proceeding as planned. The beer is brewed. The runs are settled.
The tunnels are being dug. The pack has registered. The GM is Great and
Mighty.  Whales have been ordered to watch. Flour is being ground.

All Piece and Diet.

With respect to previous announcements a single change has to be noted (a
SINGLE change, only - surrealistic! - that's Adriatic quality hashing):

Saturday run starts at 3 p.m. s.t. on the spot, instead of 4 p.m. Latecomers
will have a problem, as they will realize when it's too late...

HOW TO GET THERE:

1. From the North

Take A14 Bologna-Bari south and exit at Val di Sangro. This is the fourth exit
after Pescara-Centro (Pescara Sud/Francavilla - Ortona - Lanciano - Val di
Sangro). Drive towards Castel di Sangro and Bomba. You are on a typical South
Italian road (N 652) that takes you straight up towards the mountains. After a
while you will first pass a pathetic highway bridge standing alone in the
fields, waiting for a highway that never showed up, and then you'll see the
lake on your right hand side. From the motorway it is around 32 km to the exit
COLLEDIMEZZO, where you have to get off. This is after a series of tunnels (the
exit itself is between two tunnels).

FRom this exit, follow the sign for Pietraferrazzana, but at the next
crossroads, after 50 m, with the lake in front of you, turn right towards
Bomba. You drive a kilometer along the lake until you see a sign for Il Soffio
and make a left turn downwards - and then you arrive very soon. Drive into the
place and park your car in the internal parking. You'll be able to take it with
you to your log cabin, but first check for hashers carrying registration signs
or bother you in other ways.

In case you get totally lost: Il Soffio is on the East side of the lake, i.e.
on the same side as the road you came on, pretty much in the center.

2. From the West (Rome)

Same procedure. Take A24/25 East to Pescara until you get to the A14 and drive
down direction Bari. Then follow above instructions.  You can exit the A25 at
Sulmona and drive through the mountains via Roccaraso and Castel di Sangro, but
it won't save you time. It's faster to go via Pescara and stay on the
motorway.

3. From Naples

Take the A1 North up to Caianello, exit, and drive up N. 85 to Isernia. From 
there, go to Castel di Sangro via N. 17 and from there N. 652 to Lago di Bomba 
via Ateleta, S. Angelo del Pesco, Quadri, and Villa S. Maria. You will see the 
lake on your left hand side - exit as described above at Colledimezzo.

8pm Fire & Ice-cold Beer Night Run (torches may be helpful for those who can not
swim)
Hares: Sharon and Holes
9.30 pm Dinner
After dinner: Apres Hash followed by Hash Chapter Introductions followed by more
Apres Hash (if you show me yours...)

Saturday:
Breakfast all morning. Take-out lunch. 
Excursions/Activities for the tough who are still going (incl. mountain gliding,
lake walking, tennis, whale watching, sightseeing, beer testing, etc.)
3 pm Run
Guaranteed: No Hash Concept (some Haship may be involved) Hares:  Wee Willy and 
Narcoleptic
Down Downs: 6.30pm
Dinner: 8.30 pm
Songs, disco and beers until late into the night......

Sunday:
Breakfast
11am Hangover Run
Hare: Gonzo
Lunch at 1pm
