DIRECTIONS:
From Milan -
A4 direction Torino; follow signs - Monte Bianco. Traverse the tunnel
and descent until the T-junction. Turn right - direction Chamonix.
From Geneva -
A40 direction Chamonix-Mont Blanc. Pass the Chamonix turn-off.
Continue on main road and follow signs - Argentiere.
The village is approx. 8 km. past Chamonix, up the valley. The hotel is
on the left, opposite the tourist information office and 200 metres from
the train station.

Subject: last minute skihash infos
Dear Hashers
The days are appraching fast. The organizers asked all the RAs to pray
for excellent snow conditions. So , at least so far, we can tell
you that the snow is fantastic. Lets hope this will last until the
weekend. At the moment there is also snow in the village.
Now some more information :
TRANSPORTATION
I am coordinating arrangements for those leaving from Geneva.
This message is sent to both , hashers with no transportation for
Friday and Hashers with seats available in their cars.
I will try to find ways how to mix and match
Please let me know by Wednesday 28/1/98 , 5:30 p.m. , whether you
need transportation or can provide transportation to participants.
Provide by e-mail or phone the following :
Name , number of seats (available or needed) , telephone (or other
contact information) , approx. time and place of departure on Friday
... Color of the seats of your car etc.
Just in case you cannot find a lift here are two more alternatives for
the "tough" ones or for those who want "definitely" to finish their
books before the ski hash starts..
1. Geneva Cornavin . Departure : 16: 18 pm arrival at Argentiere
19:32 pm cost 63 one way , 114 return. Two stops one in Martigny, I
don't remember the second. This is "the last train to Argentiere". I
know , it sounds like the title of a cowboy film , but its true , its
the last of the day from Cornavin.
2. Gare des Eaux Vives (Geneve) Departure 15:32 p.m. arrival around
11 p.m. in Argentiere . It goes via Grenoble (Believe it or not).
SKIING
Prices below are for one day and for groups more than 21 skiers
Places , Tariffs :
1. Les Grands Montets , 160 F (against 188 for normal) + for the brave
ones 17 F for the Aiguille des Grands Montets)
2. Le Tour , 124 F (against 138 for normal)
Amounts will be paid upon registration and passes will be delivered
Saturday morning at the reception of Hotel Couronne between 9 - 10 am.
As per the Valle Blanche , we will know find out on Saturday ,
because we depend on the weather and snow conditions.

Some last minute information for all skiing and non-skiing hashers.
The REGISTRATION CENTER will be located in the Hotel Couronne.
By car: This three or four story building will be on your left
(assuming that you will be entering Argentiere from the direction of
Chamonix). It's the hotel with the sign in the shape of a crown.
By train: On leaving the train station turn right into the main road
and continue about 200 yards.
The restaurant FLAMBE is attached to the Couronne. The hotel DAHU is
just beyond the Hotel Couronne and the CARRIER is opposite the
Couronne.
Registration will start at 19:00 or 7pm on Friday evening, 30 January.
The fee of FF800 for the weekend forfait can be paid at the
registration center.
DO NOT MAIL OR DEPOSIT ANY MONEY DURING THIS WEEK.
There is not enough time for the mail service to deliver a
confirmation. Bring cash in french francs. Swiss francs or italian
lire will be accepted.
Early arrival
If, for any reason, you would like to have your hotel key before this
time please call Iron Lady before Thursday evening:

Late arrival
If you plan to arrive after 9pm please come to the Flambe restaurant.
Prepaid registrants
All persons who have prepaid and received their coupons can go
directly to the EXPRESS service desk. Your goodie bag will contain
your hotel key and jogging. This pack will be referenced only by the
number on your coupon. Please bring it with you.
Dinner Friday evening
We have asked the Flambe to start serving at 8:30pm. However,
something to eat can be arranged up to midnight. After that it's all
drinking time... that is, until they throw us out.
This meal is optional. Coupons for the meal can be purchased at the
registration center.
Skiing enthusiasts
There will be a SKIDESK with professionals to assist you with your
skiing arrangements including ski passes, equipment rentals and the
VALLEE BLANCHE information.
Additional nights
For those of you interested in additional nights, either before or
after Friday and Saturday, should contact Iron Lady who will inform
the hotel so that you will be able to stay in the same room.
Otherwise the hotel has full rights to move you to another room.
Payment for additional nights must be made directly to the hotel. The
amount to be paid will be determined by the hotel only.
