1998 ITALIAN NASH HASH
Celebrating 51 Years of Hashing in Italy

Location
La Fratta is an old farmhouse, also once a monastery, near Senalunga,
in Tuscany, not far from Sienna. The accommodation is quite amazing. It
consists of many separate, rambling farmhouse buildings built around a
courtyard, each with its own bedrooms, bathrooms kitchens and common
rooms. Many of the rooms have original open fireplaces and furniture.
The rooms are all different, most are twin or sharing, but there are
several family cottages and suites. It is important to say on your
application what type of accommodation you need, and your preferences
for sharing. We have the whole place for the hash, but allocation
is quite a job due to the varied rooms.

Cost
Total cost is Lit 185,000 per person, (half price children under 12).
There will be a small discount for sharing more than 3 per room or for
staying only one night IF you book in good time (at least 2 weeks before
the hash) so we can sort out the rooms. All other cases, one hasher, one
price.
The price includes accommodation for the whole weekend in La Fratta,
special Nash Hash Sarong and Cape Malay hat, run fees for Torchlight
Hash, Nash Hash, and Hare of the Dog Hash. Cocktail on arrival on
Friday, full Scottish breakfast on Saturday (including malt whisky),
Restaurant meal after hash on Saturday, Champagne cocktails and
croissants Sunday morning and unlimited hash wine and beer and water for
the weekend. Also included is bus transport to Sienna on Saturday
morning and to the Hash on Saturday evening.
Cost does not include Friday dinner at La Fratta, lunch in Sienna on
Saturday or any other meals. Ample cooking facilities and fridges are
available at La Fratta. We have arranged for a Restaurant to bring in a
meal on Friday evening for those who want it. For lunch in Sienna a
cheap fixed price meal will be arranged. If you want either of these
meals you must book them on your registration form! Friday dinner Lit
25000 extra, Sienna lunch you pay your share after the meal.

We don't take deposits, we trust you. Your booking is automatically
confirmed on receipt by us, and if you book and don't cancel on time you
may be asked to pay! You will not receive confirmation of your booking
until about 7 days before the Hash.
Payment
Money is collected by Hash Cash at breakfast on Saturday, Italian lira or
Italian cheques please. No deposits or price increases for delay are
charged (what exactly do other hashes do with all that extra money??).
However, if you book and don't cancel well before we will assume that
you are coming and we may ask you to cough up.
Meals
They Will be Great!! We had problems with food at La Fratta last year,
and a Hash Barbecue was not a good answer but, those of you with long
memories, rest assured, we have made an arrangement with an outside
restaurant (not the old caterers) to bring in good food on Friday
evening and Saturday, after the hash, but best of all, our own RMBH3
Scottish chef will provide an incredible imported Scottish breakfast on
Saturday morning, seeing is believing! On Sunday, Champagne, smoked
salmon, croissant, fresh bread and honey!
There are ample cooking facilities available if this is not enough, so
you can fill in with your own ingredients if you want.
LIMITED NUMBERS
Numbers are limited to 75, first come first serve, so book early. Use the
form because verbal bookings to RMBH3 committee are usually forgotten when
the next beer is consumed (i.e. immediately).
HOW TO GET THERE / JOINING INSTRUCTIONS
Take the Autostrada del Sole, heading south out of Florence towards Rome.
Exit at Valdichiana and head in the direction of Sinalunga. Follow signs
to
Torrita, After ~2,5 Km turn left into the drive of La Fratta. (La Fratta
is marked on most road maps) At the end of the drive, (about 1 km) turn
right and continue another 500 metres. Pass between old buildings and the
main house and into the grass quadrangle, (trees facing you and buildings
on the other three sides). Park in this area.
Registration is up the stairs in the building on the right side of the
quadrangle. Use the entrance furthest away from where you came in, nearest
the trees. It will be marked.
If no one is around, tick of your name on the list and go to the room
allocated to you.
Absolutely NO room changes are possible without express permission from
Bwana, countersigned by Gus MacKey!
